The Simple Plan
In the movie The Simple Plan, I learned how money can really mess up a friendship and family. Money makes the world go round and this movie definitely proves it. Hank definitely didn't want to take the money when discovering the dead man in the plane. It was the plan that his brother and Lou decided to believe in which rubbed off on Hank and changed all their lives drastically. Hank does a lot of deep thinking and comes to the conclusion that they will try to make a living off the money by being smart and with a plan. Money will bring a monster out of a man. Surprisingly, it can bring the monster out of a woman as well. Hanks wife Sarah does not want to take the money at first but then is persuaded by Hank and she too decides to make her own plans about the money. Now there are four people who are in the plan, however there are many plans brought to the table by all of them that do not fall into the correct place. Money can cause a person to take someone else's life as we saw in the movie. Ego's get to flaring and the plans don't work together and cause major conflict. The police are forced to investigate more and more but can't seem to figure out what is going on because the four plotters have covered up the crime scenes that had took place. Real tragedies take place as the money gets to Hank and he notices that he can't let the witnesses that know he has the money or saw a murder live to tell the police. It even comes to a time that he has to kill his own brother. This is devastating because money should never break up a family or cause anyone to feel the need to murder someone. Hank let the money get to his head and mess up his entire life. In the end it comes out that the money is being tracked and any spent would guarantee those people get incarcerated. Four people killed and no rewarded from the money is what Hank got. He will have to live with this for the rest of his life because he did not go with his intuition when first being presented to the money. What was first a simple plan to just turn in the money turned out to be a dangerous plan that got many killed.
